About Me

I grew up in the town of Athlone in the center of Ireland. My degrees are in mathematics and statistics from Trinity College, Dublin. In the past I worked for Life Association Ireland, CBT Systems, Peregrine Expert Systems, KPMG, University of Washington, AT&T Labs, Soliloquy, and Rutgers University. Now I am a statistics professor at Columbia University in New York City.

My children's future prodigious earnings from baseball, tennis, and soccer will keep me in my old age (at least that's the plan).
