It is a good idea to use an Ascii text editor such as XEmacs or WinEdt that can support multiple buffers (so that you can easily go back and forth between your R script, your Bugs model, and the R console).
Setting up RWinEdt
Or, setting up Tinn-R
-
Download and install the Tinn-R (http://www.sciviews.org/Tinn-R/). You don't need to do anything special in R.
-
Open Tinn-R. Go to the top of the Tinn-R window and click on Options, then Main, then Application, then the General tab, then click to check Word wrap, then click OK.
-
To start R, go to the top of the Tinn-R window and click on R, then Start preferred GUI. Unfortunately, this will make the windows short and wide, so you have to resize them for convenience.
Or, setting up Emacs with R
- This is a pain. But so satisfying once you get it to work . . .
