The discussions on this site are usually about the 'perfect' representation of data in a pleasing way. Making smart views of data without the chance of people misreading what you are showing.
My take away lessons learned from Ross Ihaka is: "You wanna fail this class? Just show me a piechart." Well, I see those a lot in the showcased visualizations on that site..
